About Our Organisation
K & D Befriending was established in 1996. Originally under the umbrella of the local Voluntary Action Network, the project became independent in 2001, a Management Committee was formed and the project was given charitable status (SCO32594).
The project employs two part time members of staff:

K & D Befriending has offices in Stonehaven and Banchory.
In March 2007 K & D Befriending attained Approved Provider Standard administered by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation. This is a national benchmark and indicates that the project is operating safe and effective practices. Re-accreditation, for a further 3 years, was awarded in January 2010.
